ABOUT CALVARY CHRISTIAN SCHOOL

The following statements represent objectives for the students attending C. C. S.

To establish critical thinking.

Students must know a subject beyond just simple memorization.  They should be able to apply knowledge from one area into many others.  We know that students will need what they are learning beyond the classroom. They'll need it for life.  With that in mind, we've paired our critical thinking emphasis with character-building.

To develop a Love of Learning:

Understanding a subject is made much easier by loving the subject.  Teaching students to enjoy the learning process.

To promote self-discipline:

By training students to be relevant, consistent, appreciative, responsible, and thorough in their attitude, character, and actions.

To provide a fun learning environment:

By using interactive learning and the comfortable pacing of information from lesson to lesson and grade to grade.

We are committed to an educational philosophy of giving students more than just good test scores.

Test scores can only go so far in measuring a student's understanding of the world in which he lives.  We want to give them the tools they need to succeed in life, in work and in their witness.

Our History
Calvary Christian School is a ministry of First Pentecostal Church -  Westbank.
C. C. S. was founded by Rev. F. L. Sartin in 1978.  His desire was to have a safe place for children to receive a christian education and to establish a biblical worldview in the hearts and minds of future generations.  Rev. Sartin developed a team of teachers led by Mrs. Charlene Savoy, who served as the first Principal to C.C.S.  Through their direction and leadership C. C. S. has a strong foundation and a heritage we can be proud of.  The principles and moral guides of these precious people will always be cherished.

C.C.S continues to flourish under the direction of Bishop M. K. Sartin and First Lady, Sandy Sartin.   Located behind First Pentecostal Church we have a beautiful Family Life Center with class rooms dedicated to Christian education for the church and community.
